The problem that initially motivated me to write the stock database was=20
that a lot of parts were bought initially for some project and are filed=20
with that project's stuff (I always buy extras of any component I get=20
in) but may be useful for other things too. However they are only useful=20
for other projects if you know you have them....

I disagree, what mostly matters to me is have I got any of something and=20
where is it. There is a quantity field but for most containers=20
(exceptions are containers that are being prepared to go out for=20
assembly etc) it is only a rough approximation.
