This topic was discussed by the admins, and we came to the conclusion that the best course of action for the list is that you be barred from responding to "newbie" posts. The job of the admins is to keep the piclist stable. We believe this action will result in more useful content on the list. If you are unsure whether a post is "newbie", then do not respond to it.
