They have shown a broken open transistor in an attempt to show that it's
a genuine Sanken part rather than one of the many fakes being produced
by various sources.  This is a major problem for transistors typically
used in the output stage of high end audio amps; the genuine parts are
very expensive, so knocking out cheap fakes is a profitable business.
That said a picture on a web site doesn't exactly prove that you will
receive a genuine part.
