First, I wrote that message before receiving yours.  Second, I don't see

anyone can object to that.  This OP has been very light on context to help
understand his problem.  Part of my questions were intended to get more
context, which we could still use.  If he had said from the start

  "I am a freshman <??> major at <college> and have a homework
  assignment to make a PIC control teperature.  The PIC has access
  to <this> and <that> and must <list of requirements>.  The part I'm
  stuck on is <xxx>.  How do I find information to understand <xxx>?"

then he probably would have had useful answers by now.  As it stands now, w=
e
don't even know some of the things I assumed above.  Not only is it hard to
give meaninful advice without proper context, but I and I expect others
simply want to know who/what we're dealing with as a matter of comfort.
