There is a dsPIC with a 16 bit DAC (14 bits of "real" accuracy) that is explicitly meant for audio applications, 2 channel output (meant for left/right) 100Ksps sample rate with DMA: dsPIC33FJ32GP302/304, dsPIC33FJ64GPX02/X04, and dsPIC33FJ128GPX02/X04. It has been out sinc 2008, I think- I've had a PIM for the explorer 16 that I've had big plans for, but it has been sitting on a shelf in my office :( There are other parts that have the low resolution DACs for comparator purposes, but they have far fewer bits of resolution.
