If you choose a=20 "small" one, the issue may be having enough sample memory to hold the=20 recorded sound. You can add external memory, but at that point I'd=20 probably just choose a PIC with "a lot" of onboard memory and an onboard=20 DAC. (I have recently been playing with dsPIC33FJ128GP802/04, with=20 128KB flash and onboard DACs, available in 6x6mm QFN and 10x8mm SOIC) So what exactly is your size/weight budget? What duration sound do you=20 wish to record? Also, how loud do you want it? The audio amp seems=20 like the only thing you couldn't find integrated into the PIC.
