I actually am using serial for both the communication between the cards and to the devices outside the chassis, but I was looking for something with a sort of card-cage form factor that I could plug the cards into that would give me both power and signal and wouldn't require any expensive connectors= .. Basically I'm looking for something cool, functional, inexpensive and retro to house everything in :-) (I know, pick any 2) STD bus backplanes look perfect! but are expensive.
