I'm building a dedicated system that will require a backplane. each card will be 2.85 inches high so taking some off for the edges leaves me 2.6 inches. If I get a .100 pitch .062 thick card edge connector I could handl= e 52 lines. But what I don't want to do is lay out, fab and build my own backplane. Is there some source for generic backplanes that might have something similar? Anywhere from 4-6 connectors spaced about an inch apart would be perfect. I looked at the old PC busses and even the S100 busses and thus spent a wonderful couple of hours in the time machine, but didn't come up with anything.
