I would have thought that the sword would make people nervous :) In my secondary school, there was this guy who was one or two years ahead of me who was kind crazy. I don't know whether he would qualify as actually mentally ill (probably not) but he did some wild things more so than most did :) Anyway, he once had a role in a school play which required him to have a sword. I distinctly remember one day him running around the lobby area after school had ended for the day, "threatening" people with his sword.
