Who. > Then you're okay as you already know what YN9 is talking about - I was > thinking he possibly meant a finite state machine, but I decided that > would be silly... :-) No more silly than the FSM*. But, the point of the FSM is to be silly. Note that FSM (not state machines) is actually a wholly forbidden topic on PICList by definition, but I don't see any FSM here, officer, do you? Russell To understand FSM as it is intended to be understood you have to eg learn words like "rebut" and their variant forms* and think that they can be used meaningfully in any sensible dialog between intelligent thinking people. * As in - "I have rebutted his assertions". - Oh that's easy to rebut. - Having rebutted xxx we ... . - Mcwhatsisname was rebutted by Sweeney years ago. etc If you can't manage contortions such as this then the FSM fails to have any sensible purpose at all. If you can manage this then you can understand the FSM as intended, but it fails to have any sensible purpose at all. Non-sensible and in-sensible purposes are easier to have. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
