yeah.  how about a 10baseT phy and a MAC for higher speeds?
Or maybe someone should do a cheap and tiny 10baseT phy.

I don't think there's any big disadvantage to letting the next-hop =20
switch do the 10Mbps to 100/1000bps conversion...
