I'll probably be putting an order in with BG Micro in the next couple of=20
days. Thing is, the shipping costs are a bit high, especially when you=20
want big things like 24V/6.5A switchmode PSUs... (I'm building a UPS for=20
my server and need a nice, quiet PSU -- a Lambda EWS600 is too big, too=20
powerful and sounds like a jet aircraft taking off!)

So I figure... why not turn it into a group order?

That is, get together with a few other folks, and split the cost. This=20
way we all get to benefit from the quantity discounts, and the cost of=20
postage gets spread around a bit (thus reducing the sting a little,=20
especially when BG's minimum postage seems to be about $20).


A few things which might be of interest --
   650mAh 3.7V Li-Ion packs -- a shade over $1 a piece if you buy ten.
     FYI: The Microchip MCP73831T should charge these nicely. 40p each
     in 10off from Farnell.
   Pushbutton rotary encoders, with tactile feedback -- 78 cents in 10off
   2GB industrial CompactFlash cards -- five for $25.05
   Cosel 24V 6.5A switchmode PSUs -- $15.40 each, but quite heavy...
   9V battery snaps (the hard plastic kind) -- 26 cents each
