Yes, some parts do ship from different places, but PICs always seem to come from Thailand. If you don't use PICs anymore, what are you doing here? A blanket statemen= t like you're not going to use PICs anymore sounds religious rather than anything based on rational thought, since you don't know what requirements future projects might have.
