As long as it's adequately heat sinked, then it looks like it should
handle the power.

However, if you look at Figure 10 on the datasheet note that the gate
threshold voltage decreases significantly as the device becomes warmer
- does your circuit account for this, and can it control the gate
voltage to the levels it needs to in order to maintain lower currents
without saturating?
