>> Was the hydrogen really hydrogen, or a hydrogen bottle with oxygen in it= ? > =A0 =A0 That bottle was weighted before and after the demonstration. > =A0 =A0 No difference. I am certain that I could make a rigged apparatus of the type described. I don't know the fine details of what is required, but anything that requires thermal energy input OR something that can be converted to thermal energy, would be very hard to protect from faking. What is needed is either the fullest disclosure or a certainty of the bona fides of the persons concerned. If you have neither of these then Occam says it's the man behind the curtain. One method would be inductive power transfer (near field magnetic), or resonant RF or microwaves (also RF but tighter). But if electrical conductors are not excluded by super clever design they too could be present. ie provenanace of experimenters is more important than qualifications of observers. I recently saw a circus version of the classic 'place maiden in metal box mounted on wheeled platform with open space under it / close lid / insert many swords / engulf with flame / wheel around with views from all directions / remove swords/ open lid/ 3 maidens clamber out' trick. I was standing reasonably close and taking photos (free pass for purpose of taking photos). I looked for mirrors under platform, trapdoors, space to squeeze into away from swords etc. Not in any way obvious how i was done. I wasn't expecting 3 maidens to exit. After seeing something like that, rigging a cold fusion demo would be a doddle. Alas.
