Migrating from the 16F883 to 16F1936, mainly so I can use the capsense modu= le. Operating at 5V, so I'm using the 16F version (not the 16LF). The =20 datasheet says Vcap is "required" (...on one of three pins ... to =20 stabilize the internal 3.6V LDO for it's core), yet provides a =20 configuration bit option for no Vcap present. Could "required" really =20 mean not necessarily required? I'm concerned about it as I don't have any spare pins, unless I =20 multiplex 2 outputs that control column selects for a multi-digit LED =20 display, but that adds another FET and resistor, which I'd like to =20 avoid as space is *very* tight already. Anyone know if there's some other workaround to this? FWIW, I've =20 tried it without and it works fine, but i'm not comfortable doing this =20 in production, unless I know just how required it is.
