Most recently we designed a small board that plugs into the connector on the PM3. It then has a 2x6 2mm header on it. The two rows are connected in parallel and go to the PM3 pins of interest. We use 5 of them (leaving pin 2 on our header open). We then use a standard ribbon cable with a 2x6 or 2x7 2mm connector on each end. This readily available cable then plugs into our target system. As the connectors wear out, we just get a new cable.
