The impression I had from the post where a web cam was firs= t mentioned gave me the impression that the line of sensing would be across= the scan lines and then all that was needed was to sense a light or dark s= pot in that line. If the webcam gives a jpg type image that will require a = bit more processing, but I doubt a DSP is required. I meant DSP as in "digital signal processing", not DSP as in "digital signal processor."
