This OTTOMH so approx prices, ratings etc. I note that they have liFePO4 packs at stunningly low prices. Their "genuine A123" 18650 ~ 1100 mAh x 1 cell is about $13 Their "genuine A123" 25650 ~ 2200 mAh x 1 cell is about $18 BUT they have a "similar" name brand pack rated at 4500 mAh 9V pack arranged 3s2P 6 cells for about $30 or about $5/cell for 2200 mAh a cell LiFePO4. There is about zero chance of these being A123 cells and there are some web reports of some of these swelling somewhat BUT if they are anything like "proper" LiFePO4 this represents amazing value for money. If they all swell and die young then they are as good as their warranty, or worse. As a guide, 12 of these cells would make an about 6.6 Ah x ~ 12V battery for about $US60. A good quality 7Ah 12V SLA "brick" costs a good proportion of that. If these cells are anything like proper LiFePO4 they would utterly trounce the SLA in cost per cycle terms and all other specs for only 25% - 50% more capital outlay. Suggesting that maybe they are not so real ? :-) :-(. Anyone want to find out? I very well may. They have an Australian outlet so postage may be reasonable. TBD.
