Thanks to all for the advice and comments. I believe that my quest has come to resolution in an embarrassing manner! Radio Shack sells a package of three rolls of Magnet wire for less than=20 $10 which initial testing seems to do the job just fine... ... and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to All!
