That sub-US$10 CMOS CAMERA MODULEs may fit the space. The moving
mirror would reflect the laser beam at different pixels depending on
the mirror position. The microcontroller does not need to be powerful
in this case. (Waiting for someone posting that the above idea is old,
well known, trivial etc :-)  If not - try to patent it.)
