We spec a 10 year operational life. > How often must / might it be "activated"? Any time the AC power fails. > Storage time? >=3D 600mS > I'm wondering if any sort of electromechanical store might work? Hard to imagine that, I'm also space constrained. > Vague as necessary limits on allowable cost and frequency of use are liab= le > to be useful as there may be an acceptably low cost battery solution > depending on these constraints. . > What is the minimum holdup voltage that you can tolerate? VCC is 3.3V and the regulator needs a little headroom, so I'd say 3.6 would be a practial minimum. I might be able to push that, but the reg also need to tolerate at least 16V on the input, also under full temperature and voltage range.
