You are taking the context as an EE pro. But most of mere mortals may not know the meaning of the fancy word "ion". The key word would be "satin", - to make hair look like satin textile. Olin said, he prefers denim ions. So, non-EE-pro mere mortal would think he meant "denim", a rugged cotton twill textile. Denim hair style, why not?
