Does anybody have any experience with Z-Wave home control networks?

I ran across it while looking for an internet controllable=20
thermostat.......it appears to be able to network everything from locks=20
to DVD players......

I am wondering about the security aspects and also whether there is=20
another alternative to achieve internet control of home devices.........

What do you think?
