The current version of Diptrace isn't half bad considering its price. Unlike some packages, Diptrace they limit the number of pads, not the board size which was very handy for my purposes. The supplied libraries aren't great but it's very simple to design your own. There is a support group on Yahoo and the odd question I've asked has always been answered very quickly. It's by no means perfect but I think it's good value for money.
