> > That company naturally skimmed off a part of what appeared to > be a genuine bill but provided no service at all. And I'm sure there > Well, my case is funny, as I have no bill at all (well, not in my post box anyway), and I could not find any bank transaction related to phone a provider. All direct debit seem to be ok, and also card payments seem to be ok. Not sure then how do they receive money from me if they do? It sounds to me, if you had no part in the transfer, that this is > a failure of BT's security for allowing this to happen with no > written consent. Threaten them with much adverse publicity if > you have to. This kind of cheating really pisses me off > It is only part fault of BT as OFCOM said all they need is that warning letter so that I have a chance to cancel the transfer. So that is the current telecom law which I strongly believe that this has to be changed to force customers confirming their wish as opposed to passively keep silence on it. Not even sure it BT itself can change their business behaviour to this without changing the law first, but at least within this 10 days they could chase me up and talk about it. My mobile was on during my holiday so they could reach me. Also I have monitored my e-mail address so they could infor= m me over that one as well... Anyway, will try everything to get back my money and original conditions as this was definitely not my fault -- but for that first I guess I would need some papers from OFCOM that would prove that I am innocent (reported the fraud plus they will know that this other company is a legitimate one or not).
