Hi Guys, Few days ago BT call centre rang me asking me what can they do to see me as their customers again. I did not understood what they meant as I was a BT customer already. They were insist that I have changed my provider, so it turned out that actually my provider had been changed indeed, however, without my consent and approval. After few ours of phoning different places I have ended up talking to OFCOM= , where they have said this is what called 'slamming', so a fraudulent compan= y takes over the line (or even sometimes broadband) and then you ended up paying for that other company. The matter of fact I do not even know who is that other company, and just checked all my bills and bank statements, I could not find any payment to telcom companies. OFCOM told me that they will investigate who is that company and will let me know, however, I am not sure what stepps I can do from now. So the problems it occurred: 1. BT charged me =A352 for cancelling their contract, and of course they go= t the money through direct debit, and they are not willing to give it back to me 2. Even if I go back to BT, I have to restart the 12 month contract, so if = I decide to change provider later on, I need to pay cancellation fee again 3. My credit score might have been affected as well as that 'other company' may now claim that I have outstanding 4. They may even claim their fee through debt management companies so they may take off my telly and other goods Does anybody has an idea what steps I can do to avoid headaches and to clai= m back my money from either BT or that other company?
