I have seen a number of circuits that use a small (~0.1 Ohm) resistor on th= e outputs to parallel them and handle increased current. Why not use a LM123/223/323. They can supply 3A@5V but they come in a TO-3 or TO-220 case. =20 Rich -----Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu] On Behalf Of V G Sent: Tuesday, December 14, 2010 11:16 AM To: PICLIST Subject: [EE] Regulators in parallel Hey all, I'm having trouble finding LDO linear regulators that can supply > 1 A at 5 V, so I'm thinking of stacking a few 250 mA or 500 mA regulators in parallel. I want to draw around 1.1 A or so. Is this a good idea? Is there anything I should watch out for? --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
