I was thinking along similar lines myself - I know time =3D money etc etc,=

but your issue sounds like 30 seconds on the phone with one of their=20
technicians may well resolve things. >$1000 seems a bit high for such a=20
service... :-)
Of course if it is actually a hardware issue then it is a different=20
matter, but you need to confirm this first before buying/building=20
another controller. Long shot, but have you checked eBay for sellers of=20
spare parts?
I would hassle APS a bit more before moving on, sometimes it's just a=20
matter of getting the right person on the phone..
