I am hoping to complete my degree someday. I have 10 years experience with= the Navy as an electronics technician, and I've worked as an engineering t= ech and communications tech for the past 20 years. The degree would certai= nly bring a lot of personal satisfaction as well as being invaluable if I h= ad to interview with another employer. My Navy electronics training is get= ting to be too many years in the past for any potential employer to recogni= ze the quality training in lieu of a degree - which had been the case in th= e past. My main experience is in RF design, and I currently maintain a wide area, m= ulti-site 900MHz MPT-1327 trunking system, 800MHz iDEN system, and Harris = simulcast repeater systems. As anyone in the field knows, this knowledge = is invaluable if you remain with your current employer. It can be very dif= ficult as well as frustrating to prove your abilities without the prerequis= ite degree to a potential employer, however.
