I am among the many people who have had problems with 20 MHz=20 resonators not working reliably with PIC processors. Resonators from=20 one particular manufacturer ALWAYS worked, resonators from other=20 manufacturers didn't. I didn't blame Microchip, I blamed the resonator manufacturers. One consequence of these experiences is that I now tend to use only=20 real crystals whenever I need to run at 20 MHz. That's a very tiny=20 percentage of the projects that I (we) do here. Everything else runs=20 at 4 MHz (either internal RC Oscillator or external resonator) and we=20 have never had a problem with using 4 MHz resonators. dwayne --=20 Dwayne Reid Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd Edmonton, AB, CANADA (780) 489-3199 voice (780) 487-6397 fax www.trinity-electronics.com Custom Electronics Design and Manufacturing --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
