I'd see that assessment as rather biased :-) - BUT I'd agree that the suggestion has great merit. Whether the accompanying meritorious offer is acceptable to MIT would need TBD. I've flagged the recommendation to Admins - Jory especially as it's likely his voice has a few orders of magnitude more weight in such things. Fixing the email problem would if nothing else lay to rest the ongoing "my broken hand crafted email client does things better than their broken email server/ client / other and more people should break things the same way I do " / "hard terminated lines are so passe" / " Standards ! Standards!" / " ..." and, who knows, maybe when I reply to text that others send as plain text but which now arrives in my GMailInBox as "rich formatted", I will no longer have to change it back to genuinely plain text to stop being (gently) abused, as at present, for other people's broken clients being unable to scan it correctly. One can hope :-) Russell --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
