It's a modern OS. OS X, and Linux are derived from 1976 UNIX Windows7 is from 1993 and derived from 1985 OS/2 and DEC VMS. OSX, Linux and Windows can't easily do "Real time". This is nothing to=20 do with CPU speed. It's a challenge on those to "bit bang" RDS reception=20 just under 1,200 bps. Or generate 40kHz manchester encoded at < 600bps=20 IR remote signals. Real Time java needs a special "real time" Linux Kernel, which is barely=20 Real Time.
