Oh get off your high horse, Gerhard.  I'm not inventing standards.  Read
what I actually wrote.  I described a recipe for how to create email most
likely to be nicely readable by the most people.  That's not dictating
anything, only describing what you need to do if you want to be effective.
I'm talking about what is.  Standards talk about what should be.  The two
can be very different.
