This seems to be pretty consistent across chip companies.
I don't think that hardware companies believe in hiring
software people...  Or maybe the good programmers get tired
of rewriting the same-old hacks for each new chip...

(or maybe "deeply embedded" programmers really are just that
rare.  "We bought a compiler company; we'll let them write the
code for the app notes..."   Right.)
