I don't know and didn't look for detailed "this was =20 based on that, etc" history of the concept; it's hard to evaluate the =20 importance of an initial proof-of-concept for something like this... Igor has a SW only Ethernet too (sort of. Transmit only.) Scary =20 stuff. I guess that pre-computing a "blastible" bitstream is a pretty =20 powerful concept, but not particularly exciting after the first time...
