Yes, that's annoying.  Note that the PIClist archives do the same thing.
They also don't show a good visual separator between successive posts in th=
e
same thread.  It can get confusing at times.  You have to look at the littl=
e
domain name icon by the right margin to get a hint where messages start and
end.

I have seen all this banter, including this message, as plain text.  There
could well be HTML alternatives included in the messages but I have OE set
up to only show me plain text.  And yes, the ">" indenting appeared correct=
..
