Older versions of Outlook Express needed a 3rd=20 party patch to work properly on Newsgroups. MS has never done good mail clients. The only reason they have continued=20 to be used is the calendar/Scheduling etc features syncing with=20 Exchange. For years I installed Netscape mail, then Eudora and then=20 Thunderbird for offices not using full "office email" + exchange. AFAIK=20 Windows Mail is latest Incarnation of MS Office's integrated=20 Calendar/Email and Windows Live Mail is latest incarnation of Outlook=20 Express, the standalone eMail client. Thankfully I don't do IT stuff=20 anymore. On Ubuntu they now put Evolution as standard email client, but of course=20 you don't even have to go find a download to install Thunderbird. =20 Thuderbird also acts as Newsgroup reader and RSS reader. You can set Thunderbird always to ask, or specifically use Plain Text,=20 HTML (Rich text) or both when sending. --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
