No, I haven't. Which has pretty much destroyed my faith in engineers as "better" people.=20 With (many) notable exceptions, I find that the increase in education and intelligence among technical people is more than offset by a decrease in civility, empathy, and "humanity" (whatever that is). Actually, just a basi= c lack of manners... Maybe technical people are less likely to have a well bred mother? More distressing than that trend was finding that the "notable exceptions", who are wonderful, kind, giving people, are unable to correct, counsel, or (as a last effort) even control the dicks. In part because they are unable to agree on what constitutes an asshole. As a result, every "place" where technical issues are discussed devolves into a den of shit flinging assholes... ....and drags me down with it. I'm just not interested in the shit fights or becoming an asshole anymore. That's why I left last time (I couldn't keep the asshole out because he wasn't considered an asshole by the majority... of assholes) and why I continue to not participate beyond keeping the site up and trying to extract the good while leaving the bad behind. And before you ask, I won't start a moderated list. I don't have time, and = I don't think it's possible to enforce right relations because even the good people can't decide on what is right and wrong, and won't take a stand against assholyness... and they are outnumbered anyway.=20 I keep in touch with the humans off list.
