Unfortunately I am not organized enough to have version details, so far it's whenever I use a new laptop I seem to have to do a trial and error thing. Just a couple of weeks ago I got a netbook running Win7 and the driver from Prolific did not work, so I found an older driver on the net and it worked, but I did not do a thorough test(and not with hyperterminal). I don't have it with me but tonight I will look at it and see which version of the driver I used, and maybe I will have a link to it, too.
