Folks, Many of my PIC applications are for "mechatronics". And the difficulty is designing and building robust(!) power drivers for motors (e.g., steppers above 46v, AC and DC motors of various descriptions and sizes, including BLDC, etc.) up to 1 hp or so. I am aware of the design complications that occur here (e.g., switching transients, handling inductive loads, thermal problems, etc.) enough to make me wary of my amateur efforts :-) Any pointers to relevant message threads in this list, or more likely, useful other groups and lists that worry about this topic (e.g., the OSMC list that concentrates on driving 18v portable drill motors for robot drive trains)? I know that commercial products are available, but hey, I'm a "bottom-fishing" DIYer :-) TIA, Mike Wirth Palo Alto, CA --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
