In my professional capacity I have seen a few Linux developer die-hards. 100% of those that I see developing under OSX are using an emulator, so they are really running windows. I am seeing more and more people with the little apple on the lid of their laptops. At the most recent Masters, I saw lots of attendees (both Microchip employees and customers) with Macs With MPLAB X, we gain a modern development setting that is becoming more and more required for the more advanced processors Microchip is putting out. It also keeps the "one IDE across the entire product line" model that Microchip has put forth as a selling point for many years.
