Hacking the top off a 6CW4 proved that it didn't have optical capabilities, although they would make a very small amount of light for a very short time when powered up after opening. 807's make a nice purple light - but it takes 800+ Volt and some tens of Watts to produce and I think you may only get about 10 mcd out - the youngsters don't know how well off they are with their 30+ candela LEDs.
