Yes, I saw that. It's a way to make a "virtual" A/D, something I've
done in the past, before so many PICs had A/D

Something which is necessary when using the Scenix, which has/had
none of the modular features PICs have

Either the serial + DIP switch or parallel + BCD selector should do
for this application, although I tend to favour the serial scheme with
Vdd*2 because of the greater step differences
