Yes. His response didn't seem optimal :-).

It's not possible to know if what he's done has caused the result he
now sees (whether by milk baking or turning it on while wet,  or
whether it would have happened anyway. Proceeding on the basis that it
may still be recoverable is best choice  if he values the keyboard
enough to spend the necessary time on it.
