Highly likely that they delete such genuine duplicates - possibly to reduce bandwidth as much as providing a service, as they have a number of other "bandwidth reducing", most not as benign as this one. eg - hide quoted material and very aggressively identify quoted material for hiding. - truncate long messages and ask if the rest is wanted. - Download of thumbnails only for pictures over a certain size. , .... The first makes selective quoting of messages more difficult. The second makes it easier to miss desired or important content. The 3rd is just annoying. When a "free" service limits features in an intrusive manner the response may be 'well, after all, it IS free", but they alienate their customer base as a consequence. Commercial choices as ever :-).
