My mp3 player fell out of my shirt pocket into the fish pond
when I leaned over without due care and attention. Straight
to the bottom, earbuds and all. Couple of days hanging on the
clothes line in good sun, works fine

When you think about what electronics are subject to on a daily
basis - condensation, humidity, pollutants etc - a proper dunk
in clean water isn't really much of a big deal
