I've compared the _JTAGEN_OFF and _JTAGEN_ON hex
files, as created by MPLAB without my manual change, and they
have the same checksum

I'm using 8.30.00.00 MPLAB. The ASM30 is what came with it.
Looked for an 'About' to get the version, possibly 3.12

pic30-as.exe v3.12, pic30-ld.exe v3.12, pic30-ar.exe v3.12
