Just one of my pet peeves....I'm pretty sure that you mean "autoignition temperature" and not "flash point" Flash point does not mean the point at which ignition naturally happens. It means the temperature above which the vapor pressure of a fuel is sufficient to put the air/fuel mixture above the lower flammability limit. The flash point for fuels which are gasses at room temperature is way below room temp (i.e., some of the fuel is still liquid at the flash point). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_point Sean On Wed, Sep 1, 2010 at 5:43 PM, Dwayne Reid wrote: > > The current setup has the fuel stream pass exactly through the middle > of the spark gap. =A0The spark is continuous and it raises the > temperature of the fuel up way past the fuel's flash point. =A0The > result is perfect ignition. > > dwayne > > -- > Dwayne Reid =A0 > Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd =A0 =A0Edmonton, AB, CANADA > (780) 489-3199 voice =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0 =A0(780) 487-6397 fax > www.trinity-electronics.com > Custom Electronics Design and Manufacturing > > -- > http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive > View/change your membership options at > http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist > --=20 http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist .
