While I agree in principle with this... How do you get to direct
responsibility without regulation and oversight? Don't you think that
people are smart enough to be able to separate the assets of the
"directly responsible" company from the assets of the people/companies
where the profits eventually end up, so that "unlimited liability" is in
effect restricted to very little -- without good regulation and quite
tight oversight? This isn't something futuristic, this is standard
practice.
